I came to Wuhan University in September 2006, and I can still remember that day as though it was yesterday.

School of Printing and Packaging in WHU contributes a lot in printing and packaging industry. Two years’ study in WHU as a postgraduate student has truly made my life more meaningful.

I majored in Packaging Material, and my Supervisor was Professor Li Houbin. During those two years, I acquired academic knowledge. Besides, I learned a lot from Professor Li’s meticulous scholarship and modesty, which benefited me greatly in my later life. I realized that one should consider not only his interest, but also the trend of that field when pursuing a further study, and only in this way can one maximize his talent in work.

In 2008, I graduated from WHU and became an R & D Engineer in Shanghai Sanying Packaging Materials Co., Ltd. During the two years in Sanying, I successfully transferred from a green hand to a real researcher.

Later, in 2010, I was the R & D manager in CCL Label China. CCL is the world biggest enterprise on self-adhesive label, and the primary business of CCL Label China is the production and printing of self-adhesive label. By learning from foreign enterprises, we knew more about the management pattern worldwide and exchanged views with colleagues and customers around the world. In recent years, we began to cooperate with countries in Europe and America to develop new anti-counterfeiting materials.

Several years’ working experience makes me realize that China needs talents with global vision. Compared with those of Europe and the U.S., Chinese enterprises still have a long way to go. From Jobs to Zero to One, we can see Americans are trying to change the world we are living in. Thus, in college education, original thinking needs to be encouraged.

In May 2015, I joined the Stora Enso China Investment Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Marketing, my new job, was totally new/a challenge for me. But I believed it would enrich my knowledge and personal experience. After all, people grow up confronting challenges.

In business world, I met many elite alumni. And through communications, I think I further understood the motto of WHU. I am proud of being a WHUer.
