School of Printing and Packaging held the sub-forum of the 5th international interdisciplinary forum of Wuhan University

On Apr. 21-22, School of Printing and Packaging held the sub-forum of the fifth international interdisciplinary forum of Wuhan University and three overseas young scholars from the University of Alberta, National University of Singapore and Ghana were invited to attend the forum.


On the morning of April 21th, Zuo Jun, party secretary of our department, Wu Wei, deputy director of our department and three overseas young scholars attended the opening ceremony of the 5th International Interdisciplinary Forum of Wuhan University. After the ceremony, three overseas young scholars were invited to visit our laboratories.


On the afternoon of April 21th, our department held the opening ceremony of the sub-forum. Three overseas young scholars, Zuo Jun, Wu Wei, Zhou Cuifang, deputy party secretary of our department, Liu Xinghai, deputy director of our department, Prof. Wan Xiaoxia, Prof. Li Houbin, Prof. Qian Jun and other teachers and students attended the forum and Liu Xinghai hosted the opening ceremony.

Zuo Jun gave a welcome speech on behalf of School of Printing and Packaging. He said, "We sincerely welcome more and more distinguished young scholars at home and abroad to join us and grow up with our department to create a better future!" Wu Wei introduced our department from a brief history, scientific research, important instruments and equipment, talents training these four aspects.


In the sub-forum, three overseas scholars, Prof. Wan Xiaoxia and Prof. Li Houbin made special academic reports and they had exchanges with our teachers and students.



On April 22nd, two teachers of our research labs talked face to face with three overseas scholars respectively about topics of common interest like scientific research.


School of Printing and Packaging attached great importance to the preparations of the sub-forum and aimed at strengthening the construction of high-level talents, further building a platform for meeting of minds and academic exchanges, promoting interdisciplinary research and academic innovation, and actively integrating into the “Double First-rate” construction of Wuhan university. During the whole process of the sub-forum, party and government leaders of our department participated in the forum and had extensive and in-depth communication with three overseas scholars.
