Intelligent packaging is a cutting-edge technique of functional packaging, which is generally defined as the packaging that provides additional levels of useful functionality beyond protecting, containing and providing information about the product. According to the technical characteristics, intelligent packaging can be classified into three categories, namely functional material intelligent packaging, functional structure intelligent packaging and informative intelligent packaging. Meanwhile, intelligent packaging is a research involving multiple disciplines with supports from various fields. The main objects of research on intelligent packaging are helping manufacturer to prevent errors, providing full track and trace in course of commodities circulation, monitoring product quality/safety, making products more effective in use and preventing waste.
