Students who graduated in 2009 are somehow unlucky. The Financial Crisis affected nearly the whole job market. Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited developed a lot in that period when people preferred to stay at home and play computer games due to the tightened economy. Shanda provided twice as much job opportunities as management trainee as previous years, and that’s the reason why I moved into the field of Internet as a management trainee despite the fact that I majored in printing.
Talents are everywhere in the business world. Compared with all the staffs, I was not outstanding from any perspective, but I was never afraid. With one’s perseverance and ability developed in university, he can achieve his goal with time and efforts.
When I first thought about what my real interest was, I wanted to be a product manager. It was not easy. I wrote to nearly all the large Internet enterprises and even some small ones in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Only The Store provided me with an opportunity for an interview. I treasured it. In order to give the interviewer a good impression, I listed all my products, print them, and I even worked out some suggestions for this entrepreneurial company. The CTO appreciated my performance in the interview and I later became a member of The Store.
As The Store was bought by Wal-Mart in 2012, the next year, the Global CEO of Wal-Mart came to give awards. I got 2 of them, namely, Special CEO Award and the Best Innovation Award. I was pregnant at that time, and when I stepped on the stage, managers from around the world were astonished.
When you get familiar with your job and accumulated enough experience, a career direction needs to be decided. You can either take the one you like or the one you are good at, and then all you need is perseverance. Perseverance always prevails.
