On 24th February, representatives of Student Union interviewed Professor Backhaus. Professor Backhaus, German, who has been giving lectures in School of Printing and Packaging for 8 years, exchanged his views on international education with the representatives.
Differences in Education
Professor Backhaus explained the differences between teaching in China and in Germany, and analyzed both characteristics respectively. He pointed out that Chinese students have a wider range of knowledge while students in Germany tend to extend their depth of thought. The advantages are complementary and thus, cooperation is needed.
Significance of studying abroad
Professor Backhaus pointed out that studying abroad is not only to enhance one’s professional skills but also to broaden one’s horizon. Only in this way can students majoring in printing and packaging be more competitive and outstanding.
The career of students
Professor Backhaus considered printing to be a important part of multimedia. He emphasized the significance for printing and packaging major students to pay attention to the new trend of the development of this field and to acquire a wider range of knowledge.
In recent years, School of Printing and Packaging is persisting in an international and open education system, aiming to providing students with more opportunities.
