Prof. Wan Xiaoxia Selected as Leading Talent of Nationwide Press and Publication Industry

Recently, the General Administration of Press and Publication published the third list of nationwide press and publication industry. Prof. Wan Xiaoxia, Dean of school of printing and packaging was selected as the leading talent in science and research.

The leading talent in Nationwide press and publication industry is a talent program under the requirement of the Party Central Committee and the State Council to strengthen the development of the high quality talents, according to the documents by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee. The range covers publishing corporations, printing corporations, colleges and universities installed with majors like press and publication and research institutions in press and publication. The candidates are the extraordinary talents who have leadership and have made great achievements in press and publication industry.

Prof. Wan Xiaoxia is the winner of national award of “Bi Sheng ” and has devoted herself to the education, research and social service in printing engineering for 27 years. She has visited California State University, Los Angeles and Rochester Institute of Technology and other higher institutes as a Senior Visiting Scholar. She has published more than 50 papers, edited and published 4 scientific and technical books, won 2 provincial science and technology awards. And her course of Introduction to Printing Engineering has been selected as the national excellent course of the ministry of education.

Prof. Wan Xiaoxia has long worked on the pre-printing technology and the theories and applications of color science, and has undertook and completed more than 40 national and provincial collaborative project on science and technology. In 2000, she took the lead in the construction of digital printing workflow in china. The color perception platform of complex images designed and constructed by her has reached the level of other international laboratories. The reconstruction of highly dynamic images based on this platform has been authorized with 3 national patents. The research of the chrominance detection technology of Laser holographic laser paper under her charge has succeeded and won 2 national patterns which have now been transferred and applied. In the year 2012, she leaded the subprogram “the inversion and reproduction” of a 973-national- program “the digitalization and protection of cultural relics”
