On Nov.16-19, the 9th China Academic Conference on Printing and Packaging and Forum of Technology Integration Innovation Development were held in Jinan, Shandong. The conference was organized jointly by China Academy of Printing Technology, Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences) and China Printing Technology Society and School of Printing and Packaging, Wuhan University was one of the joint organizers.

More 200 representatives from over 70 universities and colleges, research institutions and enterprises in the field of printing and packaging such as University of Leeds, Leiden University, Wuhan University, South China University of Technology, Haier Group Co., Ltd, Shenzhen Jinjia Color Printing Group Co., Ltd, Shanghai Zidan Printing Co., Ltd and so on. Prof. Wu Wei, deputy director of our department, Associate Professor Li Zhijiang, director of our Printing Engineering Research Office, Associate Professor Liu Qiang and 7 students of our department attended the conference.

The conference included four parts: main academic reports, Forum of Technology Integration Innovation Development, symposiums by groups, and visits and exchanges. In the forum for young scholars of the main academic reports, Wu Wei gave an academic report titled “Printable Functional Nanomaterials: Designed Synthesis, Anti-counterfeiting and Printed Electronics Applications”. In Forum of Technology Integration Innovation Development, Li Zhijiang presented the findings of our research teams and the cooperation of industry, university and research of our department.

Li Zhijiang presided over the academic reports of image processing technology at the branch venue and our five students made oral academic reports in the branch venues of color science and technology, image processing technology, and digital media technology.

The conference had received a total of 236 papers from 56 colleges, universities and research institutions of the enterprises at home and abroad. After rigorous review, 17 “Excellent Academic Paper” awards and 6 "Greatest Potential for Industrial Application" awards were selected from 138 papers which were recommended for publication in the book Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering (LNEE). Four students, including Shang Yongxing, Fan Minghua, Xun Yijing directed by Li Zhijiang and Huang Zheng, directed by Liu Qiang won the “Excellent Academic Paper” awards, which fully showed the high quality of our talent training.
