Liu Qiang and students to attend the 29th session of the International Lighting Commission

From June 17th to 22nd, Liu Qiang, an associate professor of our department, led Huang Zheng, a 2018 graduate student, to participate in the 29th session of the International Commission on Lighting (CIE).

CIE is the highest level international conference in the lighting industry. The conference was held in Washington, D.C., with 478 participants from more than 20 countries and regions around the world. Professor Wu Shukui, Chairman of the China Lighting Association, led 51 Chinese experts to attend.


During the conference, Liu Qiang delivered a speech entitled "Evaluating the performance of colour quality measures in colour preference prediction based on a large psychophysical dataset" in the "Modelling colour quality of light sources" theme seminar, introducing its quantification of white light color quality Research work. In addition, as a member of the committee, he participated in the group meetings and discussions of CIE-JTC 16 (D1 / D8) and CIE-RF-03 technical working groups.

In the poster presentation, Huang Zheng, as the first author, stated the titles of "Best lihgting for jeans: optimising colour preference and colour discrimination", "The impact of gender and object colour on the prefered combination of illumiance and colour temperature" Two jobs. He introduced his research progress on the lighting design and the gender differences in lighting color preferences.


During the meeting, Liu Qiang, Huang Zhenghe and other experts and scholars exchanged ideas on issues such as museum lighting and light source color quality.

Through this participation, the teachers and students of our department broadened their academic research horizons, demonstrated the quality of our university's excellent personnel training, and helped further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
